Phoenixville, PA – Phoenix American Motorsports will bring its four-car, two-class Pirelli World Challenge effort north of the border this coming weekend to Canadian Tire Motorsport Par (CTMP). Located east of Toronto in Bowmanville, Ontario, CTMP (formerly Mosport) offers a challenging natural-terrain road course for team drivers Andrew Aquilante, Preston Calvert and Kurt Rezzetano.

Entering a trio of Ford Mustang Boss 302 cars in GTS, Aquilante sits third in the point standings on a string of strong finishes, but has yet to find the top stop of the podium in his Calvert Dynamics and Phoenix Performance entry. The five-time SCCA National Champion made the most of the Barber event in late April, moving up into the late stages of both races to score third and fourth place finishes.

Return to Phoenix in the News

Rezzetano is fifth in points, enjoying a strong season, and put on a last to seventh performance at Barber after a penalty required a drive-through.

Calvert has been banking track time in his rookie pro racing campaign, racing in both GTS and GT Cup. At CTMP, Calvert will strap into his No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car in the GT Cup presented by Momo category.

After a string of top five finishes stopped at Barber Motorsports Park, Calvert hopes to return to his street-course form that saw fourth place finishes in both St. Petersburg and Long Beach.

All three drivers have prior experience at the 10-turn, 2.458 road course formerly known as Mosport, and widely regarded as one of the most, if not the most challenging track in North America.
