Phoenixville, PA – At the half-way mark of the 2015 Pirelli World Challenge season, Phoenix American Motorsports is leading the way in the GTS class with Kurt Rezzetano atop the point standings with teammate Andrew Aquilante in third as the series heads to Road America this weekend. Those two, along with Preston Calvert, will make up a three-car Ford Mustang Calvert Dynamics/Phoenix Performance entry, along with a GT Cup entry for Calvert.

With Rezzetano coming off a win and second place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Pirelli World Challenge now visits another iconic North American road course. Four miles of high-speed straights and a variety of high and low-speed corners and elevation changes make up the 14-turn Road America, located in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

Teams will get promoter track time on Thursday before a double race weekend in both GTS and GT Cup.

Return to Phoenix in the News

Aquilante will come into Road America hungry for his first Pirelli World Challenge victory, as he is fresh off a last-to-first Trans-Am win at New Jersey Motorsports Park in the Phoenix Performance/Calvert Dynamics Corvette on June 14.

Aquilante's No. 32 sits third in points, just one point behind Dean Martin in second, and just under 100 points behind the Mustang of Rezzetano, who controls the title chase.

Phoenix's string of podiums and strong finishes throughout the 2015 GTS season has propelled Ford Performance to the points lead in the GTS manufacturer's championship, where the blue oval enjoys a 20-point lead over Aston Martin.

In the GT Cup category, Calvert will be again seeing more track time as he competes in dual GTS and GT Cup races. The No. 77 sits fifth in the GT Cup points, and Calvert is looking to better his season-best fourth place GT Cup finish.
